Michael Waldrop is an accomplished percussionist/drummer in both classical and jazz idioms. He performs and records constantly in the NW area and nationally. He is the percussion professor at Eastern Washington University. He is the principal percussionist with the Coeur D'Alene Symphony. He leads his own trio "Triangularity" and a salsa group "Mamblues". He is a sideman with a plethora of groups including the Jack Cooper's Memphis based Jazz Orchestra of the Delta and locally in Spokane with the Michael Lewis Group. He has played with a number of NW based artists including the Spokane Sympony, David Hagelganz, and the salsa group Milonga. He was a member of the Bob Curnow big band from 2006-2009 recording three CD's with the group. He recently recorded percussion for the Centaur label on Jack Cooper's "Chamber Music for Winds" CD. His marimba music is published by Drop6 Media and he maintains an active schedule as a solo marimbist and percussionist. He is available as a sideman for both live performance and recording sessions. He is also is available for private lessons and clinic/master classes.
